The French Birthday Party

The celebration of Chris's birthday, in french time

The date of February 23, 2002, is Christina's birthday, in French time, that is. So to celebrate, Katie, Cy, and Christina went to Bahama Breeze to sample the finest conch. To start, they all sat down and were asked what they would like to drink. Christina ordered a Sprite, Cy ordered a root beer, and Katie ordered a virgin Bahamarita. But that was only the beginning. As the friends sat waiting, laughing and joking, their drinks were brought out. The root beer looked good, and the Sprite was tasty. But when the Bahamarita came, disaster struck.

That is a picture of us. Cy is a pyro. Of course, that's not really us, but it's all about the symbolism.

It was horrible. The three immediatly held a moment of silence, and put the maimed orange in a place of honor on a plate. It immediatly became known as the plate of sorrow. After that horrible and shocking incident, the trio's food arrived. Cy enjoyed a lovely jerk chicken pizza, Katie ate some delectable Shrimp and Conch Fritters, and Christina sampled the jerk chicken sandwich. When their food was done, it was time for mission #1440: Operation Conch-to-Pizza Box. Katie, being the sneakiest of the bunch, quickly looked around and snuck the conch onto Cy's plate. Cy later maneuvered it into a box ingeniously labeled "Jerk Chicken Pizza".

The three party-goers nonchalantly paid the bill and left the table, conch in hand. They immediately went to the Bahama Breeze Island Market to purchase some unique Island products. Christina came away with an alligator pen and of course, a golfball for the absent Adrienne. Katie bought some so-called "funlights" made in the shape of palm trees and flamingos. Cy purchased a 24-inch snake and a pen. The three then proceeded to go outside and wait for their respective rides. QUICK HIDE! IT'S CY'S MOM!!!

Us before the disaster.

As the waitress set down the Bahamarita, the eyes of Katie got bigger and bigger. Cy let out a scream, and Christina buried her face in terror. For there, sliced and stuck on the rim of the glass, was an..an..AN ORANGE!!!

The slice of orange: it's too painful even to look at.
